INTRODUCTION: One of the world's leading fashion designers, Yuki of London, has been presenting his latest creations. For 1977, it's the oriental touch.
SYNOPSIS: Yuki was born in Southern Japan. He started his career as an animator in films in Tokyo. Then he arrived in London to learn English. Teddy Tinling, the famous designer of tennis clothes, noticed an exquisitely-draped pair of curtains in Yuki's London home. He suggested instantly that his host should learn about clothes.
It was the beginning of yuki's career, which has taken him all the way up to the position of one of the world's fashion dictators. These are his latest propositions -- pale blue pleated silk Jersey dress with hood, short but easily-made into full length.
A long evening gown, also in blue jersey, with matching cape. Yuki designs everything: shoes, hats and even jewellery. He has also been successful in men's clothes, sport wear and furs.
A short black tunic dress in Jersey with bat-like sleeves. Yuki presents his designs in his own London fashion house. His clothes sell in all the larger cities in Britain as well as in most European countries.
One more bat-like tunic - over a red Jersey blouse, trousers with matching boots, and a turban. Yuki's clients include film stars, royalty and politicians - from Twiggy, Glenda Jackson and Princess Farial of Jordan to Conservative party leader, Mrs. Margaret Thatcher.
