Background: Ancient democracy was born here some twenty five hundred years ago. And just this weekend a modern democracy died here. The Greek military seized power in a swift well planned coup, suspended constitution liberties, installed a frontman civilian as premier and is now governing as a military dictatorship. At the risk of arrest and even his life, an American businessman made the only known film of the power grab. Severity characterized the coup both in these early hours and subsequently as the military sought to impress the public with its power and determination to crush any opposition. Apologists for the coup say that it may have fores??? civil war between ??? political faction and military.
