    The Italian Government presented the Ivory Coast's Ministry of Information with new scientific and technical equipment for its television training studio at Abidjan on Tuesday (25 September 1973).

    Worth GBP 127,513 (approximately $318,700 US), the equipment was handed over by the Italian Ambassador to the Ivory Coast M. Fulvio Rizzetto. It was accepted on behalf of the Government by the Minister of Information, M. Edmond Zegbei Bouazo.

    The equipment includes high frequency and low frequency signal generators, and oscilloscopes used for examining the machines while they are operating.

    When the school was established in 1970, there were eighteen students. This year there are 170. They are trained in the complex technology of television operations, as well as in the methods of maintaining the valuable electronic machines.

    Also present at the handing-over ceremony were the Minister of National Education, M. Paul Akoto Yeo; the Minister responsible for T.V. education and training, M. Pascal Dikebie; and the Italian technicians who had helped to install the equipment.

    SYNOPSIS: The Ivory Coast's television training studio at Abidjan, was presented with new scientific and technical equipment by the Italian Government on Tuesday. Also present among the official guests were the Minister of National Education, M. Paul Akoto Yao; the Minister responsible for television education and training, M. Pascal Dikebie; and the Italian technicians who helped to install the apparatus.

    It cost more than one-hundred-and-twenty-seven-thousand pounds sterling, and includes high frequency and low frequency signal generators, as well as oscilloscopes used in maintenance work. When the school was established in 1970, it had eighteen students. This year, one-hundred-and-seventy people are being trained in the complex technology of television output operations and the maintenance of the valuable machines.
