Background: INTRODUCTION: Saudi Arabian King Khalid is recovering in a London hospital after a recent leg operation. On Sunday (20 March) the Prime Minister of the Yemen Arab Republic (N. Yemen), Abdel-Azziz Abdel-Ghani, paid him a visit at the Wellington Hospital, the habitual place of treatment for Arabs seeking medical care in the United Kingdom.
SYNOPSIS: The Yemen Prime Minister is just one of a steady stream of visitors who has been seeing King Khalid during his stay in hospital. Although many visits have been casual, some meetings have been more official. Last week the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al Salem, held talks with the Arab leader on a range of subjects, including the Middle East peace question.
Several British dignitaries have also seen King Khalid, the latest of whom was the new Foreign Secretary, Dr. David Owen. Prime Minister Callaghan paid his respects to the Saudi ruler early last month. Britain and Saudi Arabia have a strong relationship. Saudi Arabia supplies most of Britain's oil requirements and Britain is one the Arab nation's major arms suppliers.
