    Men and women of the Ghanian armed forces who died fighting against Germany in the first and second world wars were honoured at national remembrance day celebrations on Saturday (11 November).

    Held in Independence Square at Accra the national capital, the ceremony was attended by the Head of State, Colonel I.K. Acheampong, members of the governing National Redemption Council, and heads of the armed forces.

    There was also a large contingent of foreign diplomats, mostly from the British Commonwealth.
