The Canadian Prime Minister, Mr. Pierre Trudeau, is on a lightning swing of the Asia and Pacific region. He has already visited New Zealand, Australia and Malaysia, is now in Singapore and will then go on to Hongkong and Japan.
On Thursday, he paid a visit to the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur. He was welcomed by the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Aziz, and went to an auditorium to talk to students.
After the discussions, he saw a demonstration of the Malaysian game called Raga - a kind of volleyball played with the feet.
A pretty Malaysian girl in the traditional sarong kebaya presented him with some iced coconut juice which he sipped amid an explosion of flashbulbs.
Mr. Trudeau congratulated the raga players and then moved on to another engagement as part of his crowded 40-hour visit to Malaysia which ended yesterday (Friday).
