SYNOPSIS: Australia's Dawn Fraser - the fastest woman swimmer in the world: a freestyle champion, she trains daily in the City Baths, Adelaide.

On this day the baths were crowded with young children taking part in the Education Department's "Learn to Swim Campaign".

Peter Kannis, an instructor from the Education Department, asked Dawn to give the children some hints on swimming...and she readily obliged. First showing the correct arm movements.

Judy Gooden, of Westbourne Park, an Adelaide suburb, was one proud pupil of the champion.

Now the more advanced class has a chance to learn from Dawn. They are some of the 26-thousand South Australian schoolchildren who will learn to swim this summer.

Dawn keeps a watchful eye on the young swimmers...giving encouragement as they try to put into practice all the hints she has given them.... then, the lesson is over; but it's a day many of the children will remember.
