    THE CAR WAS SPLASHED WITH GREEN AND SILVER, AND A POT OF YELLOW PAINT FLEW THROUGH THE AIR AS MADAME NHU OPENED THE DOOR.BUT THE VIETNAMESE FIRST LADY, CLAD IN A FIGURE-HUGGING BLUE GOWN, MERELY SMILED AND SWEPT PAST POLICE GUARDS INTO THE EMBASSY.

    SHE TOLD NEWSMEN THAT SHE AGREED WITH WASHINGTON'S BELIEF THAT AMERICAN AID TO HER COUNTRY SHOULD END IN THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE.QUESTIONED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF REUNIFYING VIETNAM, MME NHU SAID: "BEFORE OFFERING TO SHAKE HANDS WITH THE ENEMY YOU MUST FIRST OF ALL VANQUISH HIM."
    ON THE POLITICAL SITUATION IN SOUTH VIETNAM, SHE SAID: "IT IS SERIOUS.IT ALWAYS HAS BEEN SERIOUS.WE MAY SINK." OUTSIDE THE EMBASSY, ABOUT 100 DEMONSTRATORS PARADED, WAVING A VIETNAMESE FLAG DRAPED IN BLACK.POLICE ARRESTED ABOUT 25 STUDENTS DURING THE PROTEST.
