    REPRESENTATIVES OF TWENTY-FOUR AFRICAN AND ASIAN COUNTRIES ATTENDED A CONFERENCE ON TEACHERS TRAINING TECHNIQUES WHICH OPENED IN TUNIS ON THURSDAY. THE CONFERENCE WAS HELD UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE UNITED NATIONS EDUCATIONAL, SCIENTIFIC AND CULTURAL ORGANISATION. IT WAS PRESIDENT OVER BY M. MAHMOUD MESSADI, TUNISIAN SECRETARY OF STATE FOR EDUCATION.

    THE CONFERENCE HEARD SPEECHES FROM TEACHERS TRAINING SCHOOL PRINCIPALS, CHIEF TECHNICAL ADVISERS AND LANGUAGE TEACHERS FROM MANY COUNTRIES IN AFRICA AND OTHERS FROM AS FAR AWAY AS AFGHANISTAN.

    THE OBJECT OF THE CONFERENCE WAS TO DEMONSTRATE THE ADVANCES MADE IN THE FIELDS OF ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURE, THE RECRUITMENT OF INTERNATIONAL STAFF AND THE ORGANISATION OF STUDIES.

    THE EXPERIENCE GAINED IN MANY PARTS OF THE WORLD BY UNESCO WAS PASSED ON TO THE EDUCATION CHIEFS ASSEMBLED IN TUNIS FOR THE CONFERENCE. THE MEETING WAS HELD AT THE TUNIS TEACHERS TRAINING COLLEGE.
