  • Description

The Irish Government on Sunday (30 March) placed a police guard on the British Embassy building in Dublin after threats of a bomb attack on the building. A watch was also kept on the official residence of the ambassador at Sandyford, several miles from the city.

The threats followed continuing clashes in Northern Ireland between Protestants and Roman Catholics during the Easter weekend.

The treats were treated seriously by officials of the Dublin government. However, there were no incidents at either of the buildings.
