Background: West Germany's biggest trial of the communists of the banned K.P.D. (The German Communist Party) has opened today in the Ober-landgericht Court in Nuremberg, under the Presidency of Dr. von Strange. The 22 men and one girl are accused of trying to reform the banned KPD in Western Germany.
Preparations for the trial, which is expected to take at least ten days, have lasted for six months with intensive documentation of evidence.
