  • Description

In an all-out bid to capture New Delhi for her Congress Party, Indian Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi addressed more than six meetings in the city on the last two days of the General Election campaign.

The right-wing Jana Sangh party holds six of the seven Parliamentary seats in Delhi, apart from controlling the local administration. Mrs. Gandhi is seeking 33 more seats than the 228 held at dissolution, to end Congress Party dependence on outside support in the 521-seat Lok Sabha (House of the people).
