    The De Gaulle Government has decided to ask three French winners of literary Nobel primes to form a committee to visit Algeria to investigate allegations of torture by the French against Algerian Nationalists.

    This was announced by the French writer, M. Andre Malraux, the new Minister of Information, at a press conference - his first - in Paris yesterday (June 24).

    The three French authors chosen to form the commission of enquiry are M. Franocis Mauriso, M. Albert Cazus and M. Roger Martin du Gard.

    M. Malraux told the Press that to his knowledge there had not been any cases of torture in Algeria since General De Gaulle's visit this month to Algiers. The commission will have Government accreditation.
