  • Description

British Ambassador Sir Patrick Dean addressing the meeting of the United Nations Security Council today (10 September).

The British U.N. delegate denounced Ghana's charge that Southern Rhodesia's armed forces might by used by that state's "white minority" government against Rhodesia's African population and its neighbours.

Sir Patrick said that charge...made yesterday by Ambassador Alex Quaison-Sackey of Ghana...was "Founded on nothing but the wildest flights of the imagination."
The Security Council is considering charges that Southern Rhodesia, because of its racial policies, is a threat to the peace of Africa.
