SYNOPSIS: Sweden's Christina Sandberg servers to Evonne Goolagong of Australia in the closing stages of the Women's Singles title during Sunday's Dutch Open Tennis Championships. Mise Goolagong had taken the first set 8-6 after an uncertain start, but was now leading 5-3 in the second.
Miss Sandberg serves again, with the score 30-all, in what proved to be the final game of the set and match.
Miss Goolagong, who celebrated her twentieth birthday at the weekend, waits for the final rally.
The backhand return of this service proved too much for miss Sandberg who netted the ball.
A crowd of supporters invaded the court as the two players shook hands. The young Australian Wimbledon Champion had added year another win to her list of recent successes.
Before the prizegiving ceremony both players were warmly congratulated by the spectators for a spirited game. They were also interviewed by reporters and television commentators.
With the Dutch Women's Singles title trophy, Miss Goolagong also won 500 dollars in prize money.
