  • Description

Israeli Prime Minister Mr. Menachem Begin has appealed to the Egyptians to revive their ancient friendship with Israel, and end all further bloodshed between the two nations. In a radio speech from Jerusalem on Friday (11 November), which was directed at the Egyptians, he described the hostility between them as tragic and unnecessary. The speech came just two days after President Anwar Sadat had announced he was prepared to go to Jerusalem, if it would prevent one Egyptian casualty. Mr. Begin said this was a move he welcomed.
