Background: A young United States basketball player is starting a new life far from his home in New Rochelle near New york. Kenny Washington is only 24 years old, but early this year (5 January) he began playing with a team in Lublin in Poland.

SYNOPSIS: Kenny Washington is a stranger in what is to him a strange country, but the basketball enthusiasts of his new home town of Lublin have welcomed him as a star and a key player in the city's Start basketball team. he was noted as a high point-scorer fro his club at New Rochelle. He has brought this valuable habit with him to boost the chances of his adopted team.

Now well known among the local fans, they usually give him a wild reception. Here his team Start of Lublin face legia of Warsaw.

The team warm-up is a chance for Kenny Washington to display those qualities which distinguish his game. He combines excellent technique, with good ball control, physical fitness and clever tactics. Start is recognised as one of the best basketball teams in Poland, and their standing has been enhanced by their new player. Washington, wearing number nine, is not always successful with his shots, but with experience should develop into a player of considerable stature, despite his relatively diminutive size.

It may not have been Start's best game but they managed to beat their first division opponents Legia by the narrow margin of 86-to-83. And Kenny Washington was again the star of Start.
