    Background: At the end of the second day of the Four-Man Bobsleigh Championship, St. Moritz, Switzerland, Feb 14. America's No. 1. team was leading with a time of 2 mins. 35.32 secs., which included a record run of 1 min. 17.42 secs. German's No. 2 was only one hundredth of a second behind in second place.

    The sun and blue sky held out for the second day. The No.1. American team again made two fast descents - 1 min. 17.73 secs and 1 min. 17.77 secs.

    The German's, unable to beat 1 min. 18 secs, dropped one place, finishing third to the Americans led by Arthur Tyler, Italy's No.2, with Sergio Zardini in control gained second place.

    England's No.1 improving on its previous day's position (fifth) moved into fourth place. Fifth was the Swiss No.2 captained by Max Angst.
