    THE FIRST LINER TO BUILT IN WEST GERMANY FOR 30 YEARS LEFT THE SLIPWAY IN HAMBURG YESTERDAY (WEDNESDAY) TO BECOME THE FLAGSHIP OF THE SMALL WEST GERMAN OCEAN PASSENGER FLEET. THE 23,000-TON LUXURY LINER, "HAMBURG", IS DUE TO GO INTO SERVICE IN APRIL.

    THE HAMBURG WILL CARRY 800 PASSENGERS ON THE NORTH ATLANTIC RUN AND LUXURY HOLIDAY CRUISES. EACH CABIN WILL HAVE A PRIVATE BATHROOM, TELEVISION AND AIR-CONDITIONING. THE LINER WAS LAUNCHED FROM THE SHIPYARDS OF THE BUILDERS, THE DEUTSCHE WERFT A.G., BY FRAU MARIE-LOUISE KIESINGER, WIFE OF THE WEST GERMAN CHANCELLOR.

    ALTHOUGH THE NEWEST OF THE SIX WEST GERMAN LINERS, THE HAMBURG WILL BE ONLY THE THIRD LARGEST AFTER THE 32,360-TON "BREMEN", AND THE 25,320-TON "HANSEATIC".
