Background: Huge crowds of statesmen, diplomats, social organizations, citizens and students, together with military leaders, gathered in the Seoul Stadium this morning to observe the 8th. anniversary of the Communist invasion of Korea, that commenced on June 25th, 1950. During the ceremony President Rhee, the American Ambassador-Walter C. Dowling, the British Ambassador--Herbert Evans-and General Decker, the United Nations Forces Commander, made speeches.
The flags of the sixteen nations that participated in the Korean War fluttered in a gentle breeze in the Stadium, and, later, students carried them round the arena.
A special anthem, called the 'Song of June 25th', was played by the ROK----Republic of Korea--- Army band, thousands of students joined in the singing and the Stadium shuddered with the cheers and shouts when the anthem finished.
Government and Military leaders have called upon the people to renew their determination to resisted Communist infiltration and intensify their 'spiritual armament' and cooperate with the military in modernizing the ROK Armed Forces.
