Background: INTRODUCTION: In China, the Egyptian youth soccer team defeated the Chinese youth team 3-2 on Wednesday (21 October). The match was played on the opening day of the Great Wall Youth Cup soccer tournament in Beijing (Peking). The tournament attracted teams from Australia, the United States and Egypt, as well as China.
SYNOPSIS: The home team attacked early in the first half. China, playing right to left, poured into the Egyptian half, and had an early success, with a goal from half-back, Zuo Shusheng.
Egypt quickly struck back, number 12, Taher Abuzeid finishing off a set piece from a free kick.
The second half, and with the score 1-1, Egypt attacked again. With quick turns of speed and well-timed passes, the Egyptians sliced through the Chinese defence for Attef Sayed to score.
The Egyptians increased their one goal lead, with Sayed scoring again.
Now the Egyptian led three goals to one. But China bravely kept pressing to give their supporters something to cheer.
No problem slotting the ball home. The final score: Egypt 3, China 2.
