  • Description

Singapore's first international air show, which began on April 8, attracted record crowds at the international airport site where many firms, associated with aviation and the Australian Government, gave people an insight into the working of planes and rockets.

The Australian wing of the exhibition has dominated by life size rockets: The 'Skylark', 'Long Tom' and '1/10' models-three rockets developed in Australia.

Many international airlines: BOAC, Quantas, Air-India, Japan Airlines, Thai Airways, and others - put up colourful stalls featuring their operations.

Model planes that fly, cross-sections of jet engines, pictures of latest planes, and a few aircraft for inspection by visitors, were in the exhibition.

The most popular item was the exhibition flying given every other day by the planes of the RAF, RAF an RNZAF 'Canberra jets,' 'Venoms' and 'Gannets'.
