  • Description

Two inventors in Perth, Australia have developed a new automobile engine claimed to cut fuel consumption by 10 percent, improve power by 28 percent and raise torque by 35 percent.

The men -- Mr Bob Kostecki and his brother Gene -- have developed and refined the engine over a period of three years. It works on a variable camshaft principle - an idea that major manufacturers have spent millions of dollars crying to perfect.

The Kostecki brothers have been carrying out secret tests on a 316-cc engine for about 18 months. They said it had caused considerable interest among manufacturers in Britain, the United States, Europe, Australia and Japan.

A group of Western Australian investors is backing them financially to develop a more sophisticated 3200-cc engine, which fully incorporates integrated lubrication and cooling systems.
