Background: The drought -making troubles in whole Europe-touched Hungary too. Not only on the deeper part of the country, where we met with drought under normal circumstances, but on the country under water, as well.

Though in the last time there was some rain in Hungary, the drought is characterizing the country. It has only one advantage: they never finished so early the harvest, as in this year. But the disadvantage is much greater: fewer for feeding, vegetables, fruits and potatoes.

But one thing is to be pointed out:Some years ago the drought had caused a much greater damage. The Hungarian agriculture has the means to influence the disadvantages of drought.

In the district of Congrad the lack of water was 50%. They began quickly the pooring. In the same time, s the drought began. two months ago, the after seed began. The target was to replace the feeds, vegetables, fruits and potatoes. They used for this suppose 130.000 hectare in the cooperative farms and state farms.

Because of the drought the different straws became valuable. The paper industry uses a great part of it, but the animals need paper, s well. There fore the farmers took care to gather the straw. The fodder plants didn't receive water enough. The storage means a great problem everywhere. Therefore they had to build new storage. The steps of the government helped to reduce the damage of the drought and the providing of the population and of the animals is not in danger.
