Background: In Canada, husky skin-divers hit the water to grapple with a novel wrestling opponent - an octopus. The divers - more than 50 of them - invaded the waters off Victoria, British Columbia.

Their object: To catch with their bare hands the biggest octopuses they could find in a four-hour time limit. The divers had to hunt their quarry without the help of weapons or under-water breathing gear.

Winners of the contest, an annual event, was a diving team that caught 206 pounds (92 kilos) of squirming tentacles - biggest haul of the day.
