  • Description

In a display reminiscent of the Trooping the Colour ceremony on the Sovereign's birthday in London, England, an honour-guard escort of the Canadian Governor-General's Horse Guards is inspected by Governor-General George Vanier at the Royal Winter Fair., Toronto.

The Horse Guards were in full regalia for the occasion - burnished helmets, colour party and regimental band. In the audience furred and bejewelled women and formally-attired men mingle with the crowd in one of the high points of the winter social season.

The hound pack of Toronto's Eglinton Hunt Club displays its form in the ancient sport of tally-ho, and in the competition known as "fault and out" daring riders out their sleek hunters over the jumps and through their paces.
