    BURKE: "Hours of preparation had gone into organising the stunt and 31 wrecked cars were required for Noel Oliver to beat the world record by one. This was the stunt the crowd had paid three dollars, fifty cents to see, and the anticipated highlight of the Daytona Daredevil's performance at Rugby Park.

After weeks of preparation he launched his attempt to jump 31 cars at Rugby Park in New Plymouth last week. His efforts were spectacular, but not quite in the way he intended.
