A Japanese trade mission had talks on Tuesday (26 October) with the President of the Commission of the European Economic Community, Sr. Franco Malfatti. Members of the delegation discussed issues of trade between the six Common Market nations and Japan.
SYNOPSIS: This Common Market office building in Brussels was the scene of talks between Japanese and European Economic Community officials on Tuesday. Members of the Japanese delegation met Sr. Franco Malfatti for discussion on trade issues concerning both the six Common Market nations and Japan.
The leader of the delegation was Mr. Kogoro Uemura, who is President of the Japanese Federation of Economic Organisations.
Mr. Uemura and Sr. Malfatti had talks on a variety of trade-related topics.
The members of the delegation included high-ranking representatives from many aspects of Japanese commerce and industry. Banking and financial firms were represented in the delegation as were many of Japan's largest corporations. For Japanese businessmen who are trying to expand their foreign markets, talks with Common Market leaders are of a high priority.
