Background: The Vietnamese Government has accused Cambodia of the massacre of civilians, including women and children, in resumed incursions into vietnamese territory. The charges came from Vietnam's embassy in Paris.
A Vietnamese diplomat claimed to newsman on Tuesday that Cambodia was continuing to send its forces across the border to commit what he described as "barbaric" crimes against the Vietnamese.
The diplomat, who is Vietnam's Press Attache in Paris, said there was one recent instance he would like to mention. That happened, he said, on the 16th of March just before down, when, he said, Cambodian forces massacred more than 200 civilians, most of them women and children.
The attack on March the 16th, he said, took an hour and a half. And, he said, that was not all. He accused the Cambodians of other attacks between March the 23rd and April the 6th this year. In these attacks, he said, many areas were fired on discriminately.
The Vietnamese diplomat also claimed that Cambodian troops have crossed the border between the two Indo-Chinese communist countries and destroyed homes in villages of two provinces...and killed numerous civilians.
