    West German Chancellor, Willy Brandt is back in Bonn after a successful four day official visit to Egypt which saw the opening of a new chapter in Egyptian-West German relations. Mr. Brandt was the first western leader to make an official visit to Egypt since the 1952 revolution. The four rounds of talks he had with President Anwar Sadat resulted in the setting up of a joint governmental commission on reconstruction and development.

    During their talks the two leaders also discussed the Middle East situation, a European-Arab dialogue and bilateral relations. Observers in Cairo said the visit was a success for both Mr. Brandt and Mr. Sadat.

    Apart form economic and technical aid which Wast Germany may provide, president Sadat can count on the Chancellor's understanding of Egyptian policy in the Middle East crisis. During his trip, Mr. Brandt also spent one and a half hours touring the city of Suez the port Tewfik. He was also shown over the Bar Lev line.
