    At the United Nations on Wednesday (2 November), the General Assembly's special political committee condemned aircraft hijacking and called on all stated to tighten airport and airline security. The resolution, which was adopted without a vote, appealed to all states to adhere to three existing international treaties directed against interference with commercial aviation. Among the speakers were West Germany's Baron Rudiger Von Wechmar and Isao Abe of japan.

    SYNOPSIS: The draft resolution goes to the General Assembly.

    The Soviet Union's delegate, Yury Evgenyevich Fokine, said colonialism and racism provide breeding grounds for terrorism. He said his country is against confusing terrorism with the use of force in national liberation struggles. Another speakers was Jordan's Hassan Abu Minah who dealt primarily with actions of Israeli air force on Arabs.
