    Huge crowds turned out to witness the funeral of the daughter-in-law of former Argentine President, General Alejandro Lanusse, in Buenos Aires on Tuesday (10 February).

    The General's daughter-in-law, Senora Maria Caride Lanusse (aged 28) died when she picked up a parcel bomb in front of her apartment in Buenos Aires on Monday (9 February). Her crippled husband, Marcos Lanusse, was injured in the explosion.

    The bomb ripped apart the room where Senora Lanusse attempted to open the Parcel.

    Her father-in-law, General Lanusse, ruled Argentina between 1971 and 1973 when he stepped down to allow Presidential elections which were won by the Peronists. General Lanusse was the country's last military President.

    The death of Senora Lanusse is expected to further outrage the country's military leaders who have been reported to be pressing for the resignation of the current Argentine President. Maria Estela Person.

    The death of Senora Lanusse was accompanied by a claim from the dissident Personist guerrilla organisation...the Montoneros...that the former commander of the government anti guerrilla forces in Tucuman Province, General Acdel Vilas, had been poisoned.

    However, the claim was denied by denied by the Argentine army.
