The White House, Washington, was the scene on Feb 8th of a gathering for foreign diplomats. The reception was one of several small innovations already made by President Kennedy. The guests met the President himself, Vice-President Lyndon Johnson, and Secretary of State Dean Rusk, and this personal meeting - they had been informed - relieved them of the usual formality of "leaving cards" with the top American officials.
Among those filmed arriving at the White House were the Danish Ambassador and his wife; Mrs. Rusk, wife of the Secretary of State; Attorney General Robert Kennedy, the President's 35-year-old brother; the Ambassadors from Guinea and Malaya; and Under-Secretary of State Chester Bowles.
