Background: Following the trend established in the United States of America a Swedish hotel company has built a 'motel', the biggest in Europe. This ultra-modern hotel is well stocked with amenities for the guest and his car in the centre of Stockholm.
The lobby has a row of shops, a bar and a hairdressers, thus enabling the guests to purchase various goods and services without having to venture out, should the weather be unfavourable.
What has become known as 'contemporary furniture' is used to furnish the comfortable rooms; a novelty in each room is the telephone receiver, moulded in plastic, the dial is in the base of the instrument.
Arrangements for accommodation are such that guests and their families may occupy the same room, giving the hotel a more intimate atmosphere.
The garage is in harmony with the rest of the motel, highly efficient, modern giving the traveller a service equal to that of any well-run garage.
Included in the building is a more conventional hotel, which provides each room with a television set. IN ADDITION to the usual facilities.
The Palace has been inspected by many motoring organisations in Sweden, including the Swedish Royal Automobile Club, and their members will most probably be advised to use the motel if they are travelling to Stockholm or passing through.
Several motels have been opened in England and recently, the Dover Stage being the most famous. Like the Palace Hotel In Sweden it is furnished will furniture of up to date design and is very modernistic in appearance.
