    Prime Minister Major-General Karim Kassem of Iraq opened the second Congress of the Iraqui Journalists' Association in Baghdad Apr 7 - and launched an attack on it for its errors in failing to control its own members, thereby creating disunity among the people at a time when the 20 month old Republic's effort was to build for the future.

    The Iraqui journalists gave a warm ovation to the Prime Minister as he arrived with a salute and a wave. At the end of this stern rebuke in which he accused the Press of tending to split the nation, the journalists applauded again. In reply, Association President Mohammed Mahdi Al-Jawahri tendered official apologies for the Association's errors and promised a Press campaign to help gather the nation into unity.

    All Baghdad newspapers were unanimous next day Apr 8th greet the arrival of Soviet First Deputy Mikoyan to Baghdad on a week's official visit stepping up the Soviet trade offensive in the Mid-East.
