Background: Simmering industrial and political tensions in Argentina boiled up into a major demonstration and strike in the central industrial city of Cordoba yesterday (Wednesday).
Demonstrators filmed in the streets ranged in political sympathy from Maoists to supporters of the former President Juan Peron.
Target for many of the protestors was the city jail, where they cheered inmates including convicted and alleged kidnappers of another former President, Pedro Aramburu, who was abducted and murdered last year.
