Australia's High Commissioner-designate to Ghana, Mr. J.M. McMillan, presented his letters of credence to the Acting President, Mr Nii Amaa Ollennu, at the Castle at Osu, Accra, last Wednesday (16 Dec).
Mr McMillan noted the firm foundations of friendship and mutual understanding between Ghana and Australia. He was happy to be in Ghana at a time when it was faced with the task of economic reconstruction and the rehabilitation of responsible Parliamentary government. He wished President Akufo-Addo, who is convalescing after an operation, a speedy recovery. He hoped Ghana would prosper.
Mr Ollennu recalled with satisfaction the assistance which Australia had given to Ghana. By such a constructive attitude the Commonwealth could grow in strength in world affairs.
