Here is a transcript of part of Mr. Salim's denial.

Mr. SALIM: "No I'm satisfied to the effect that the report, I mean the, our letter has been circulated and the Secretary General informed me that the document -- we are going to have a new document issued with the necessary corrections. I am unhappy and my government takes a very strong view of the document. We feel that it does a lot of disservice to the organisation but also that it clearly gives room for unnecessary ambiguities and it's absolutely ridiculous, in fact I mentioned this example to some friends.... the south Africans are saying for example that there are one million Chinese who are go g to fight in Southern Africa, What will happen if the Committee of Twenty Four were to print a document and say that, according to speculative reports, one million Chinese are going to fight in Southern Africa. It would be ridiculous, and I think that the allegations on the questions of the military base of China in Tanzania is an outrageous lie. So to that extent of course my government takes a strong view and we are definitely offended and, but more than that we think it is not (indistinct) of the United Nations and we hope it will be rectified and it will not be made an issue."
