  • Description

Nearly three thousand demonstrators massed outside the court-house at Hadsun in Denmark on Monday (August 6th) when the trial began of nine strikers from the Hope Computer Corporation.

The demonstrators listened to speeches and sang the 'Internationale'. This strike is part of a pattern of industrial disputes in 1973 which has been described as the worst year for labour unrest since 1936.

The strikers are on trial following complaints from some non-union workers at the Hope Corporation that they were locked in and menaced.

The pickets say the workers locked themselves in during a recent strike. The strike was called after a union dispute with the Hope Corporation, who then called in non-union workers.

The case has caused a considerable stir, not lease because the police impounded Danish television film of the strike, so that they could bring prosecutions.
