    THE U.N. COMMAND IN SOUTH KOREA LODGED A STRONG PROTEST ON NOVEMBER 29 WITH NORTH KOREA AGAINST THE NOV. 20 GRENADE ATTACK ON THE U.N. OBSERVATION POST IN THE DEMILITARIZED ZONE. ONE AMERICAN SOLDIER AT THE POST WAS KILLED AND ANOTHER WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED.

    THE U.N. DELEGATION TO THE ARMISTICE COMMISSION MEETING HELD IN PANMUNJOM WAS LED BY U.S.A.F. MAJOR GENERAL JOSEPH GILL. THE NORTH KOREANS LED BY MAJOR GENERAL CHANG CHUNG HWAN OF THE NORTH KOREAN ARMY.

    GENERAL GILL TERMED THE COMMUNIST ATTACK "BRUTAL AND MURDEROUS" AND DEMANDED STOPPING OF SUCH ACTS AND PUNISHMENT TO THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTACK.

    GENERAL CHUNG DENIED THE CHARGES AND SAID THAT INVESTIGATIONS PROVED THAT THE CHARGES WERE FALSE AND THAT THE INCIDENT WAS "A SHOW PLANNED BY U.S. IMPERIALISTS".
