NUJOMA: "This is a challenge to SWAPO as the living movement of the struggle the liberation of Namibia from colonial oppression and exploitation. And we accepted this challenge, and we promise the fascist minority white settler in Pretoria, and their imperialist allies, that we will continue to intensify the armed liberation struggle, to ensure the liquidation of fascism, colonialism, racial discrimination and exploitation of men by men in Namibia through the armed liberation struggle. We believe that, when we are dealing with the fascists, you ought to use the best methods, the fascists understands. And, in this respect, the Pretoria fascists understand no other way than the intensification of the armed liberation struggle. We resolve from now on to fight from mountain to mountain, from valley to valley, from the Namibia desert to the Kalahari desert in order to wipe out the evil forces of colonialism and fascism in Namibia, and to ensure seizure of power by the Namibian people."

Background: The leader of one South West African People's Organisation (SWAPO) factions, Mr. Sam Nujoma, has vowed to step up anti-government activities in Namibia (South West Africa). He was commenting recently in East Berlin on reports that South Africa intended to press on with its unilateral elections in Namibia. Mr. Nujoma said the only strategy South Africa understood was an armed struggle. Guerrillas of his black nationalist movement are waging a bush war against South African troops.
