    Background: INTRODUCTION: A 17-year-old London student has won a British schools music competition to compose a Silver Jubilee fanfare and march for brass bands. George Benjamin's entry was chosen from 80 others and will be called "The Co-op Royal Silver Jubilee Fanfare and March" after the competition's sponsors.

    SYNOPSIS: This week the march was played at London's Festival Hall. George Benjamin conducted his own piece which will be heard by Queen Elizabeth later in the year.
