    SIR DAVID ARRIVED IN WEST GERMAN CAPITAL ON SUNDAY NIGHT, ACCOMPANIED BY HIS WIFE.

    THE GAMBIAN LEADER ALSO HAD DISCUSSIONS WITH PRESIDENT LUEBKE AND THE WEST GERMAN FOREIGN MINISTER, HERR WILLY BRANDT.

    TODAY (TUESDAY) SIR DAVID AND LADY JAWARA ARE DUE TO FLY TO WEST BERLIN FOR A MEETING WITH THE GOVERNING MAYOR OF THE WESTERN SECTOR OF THE CITY, HERR KLAUS SCHUETZ.

    SYNOPSIS
    THE PALAIS SCHAUMBURG IN BONN, THE WEST GERMAN CAPITAL, SCENE OF THE MEETING ON MONDAY BETWEEN GAMBIAN PRIME MINISTER, SIR DAVID JAWARA, AND WEST GERMANY'S CHANCELLOR KURT KIESINGER. SIR DAVID, ACCOMPANIED BY HIS WIFE, ARRIVED IN BONN ON SUNDAY NIGHT. MONDAY WAS THE FIRST FULL DAY OF HIS FOUR-DAY UNOFFICIAL VISIT TO WEST GERMANY.

    A FULL MILITARY WELCOME HAD BEEN LAID ON FOR THE ARRIVAL OF THE GAMBIAN PREMIER WHO WAS LATER SCHEDULED TO MEET PRESIDENT HEINRICH LUEBKE AND ATTEND A MEETING WITH FOREIGN MINISTER WILLY BRANDT, WHOSE WIFE WAS ENTERTAINING LADY JAWARA. AFTER INSPECTING THE GUARD OF HONOUR THE TWO MEN ENTERED THE PALAIS TO BEGIN THEIR DISCUSSIONS.

    DURING HIS TALKS WITH WEST GERMAN GOVERNMENT LEADERS SIR DAVID IS EXPECTED TO DISCUSS THE POSSIBILITIES OF FURTHER WEST GERMAN DEVELOPMENT AID FOR GAMBIA . LATER, AFTER HIS MEETING WITH MR. BRANDT, A FOREIGN OFFICE SPOKESMAN SAID THAT SIR DAVID CITED CO-OPERATION IN OPENING GAMBIA TO TOURISM FROM WEST GERMANY AS ONE WAY OF HELPING HIS COUNTRY. DR. KIESINGER TOLD HIS GUEST THAT WEST GERMANY WATCHED SIR DAVID'S EFFORTS TOWARDS THE DEVELOPMENT OF GAMBIA AND EUROPEAN-AFRICAN CO-OPERATION WITH INTEREST AND RESPECT.

    ON TUESDAY SIR DAVID AND LADY JAWARA ARE DUE TO FLY TO WEST BERLIN WHERE THE GAMBIAN LEADER WILL MEET GOVERNING MAYOR KLAUS SCHUETZ.
