  • Description

World famous artist Salvador Dali has done a painting for three men who hope to sail a raft across the Pacific from South America to Australia. They plan to keep the painting sewn to the sail of the raft during their entire voyage from Equador to Sydney. and later, they say, they will sell it.

Two of the three men who will make the voyage are from Spain, and Dali, himself a Spaniard, spoke to them in their own language.

The expedition is trying to prove that South American Indians migrated to Australia and other parts of Asia by sailing across the Pacific on rafts.

The same men set out four years ago on a similar trip, but their raft sank after 143 days because sea borers had eaten away part of the logs. This time they hope to have better luck and reach Sydney in seven months.
