    The West German Chancellor, Herr Willy Brandt, on Monday (5 June) announced the establishment of a German Marshall Memorial Fund to promote the study of United States-European relations.

    The Chancellor was speaking at a Harvard University ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the launching of the Marshall Plan.

    The plan announced by Chancellor Brandt involves the West German Government in giving 150 million marks (GBP18 million sterling) to the Fund.

    SYNOPSIS: West Germany is to spend 150-million Marks to finance a Fund which will promote the study of relations between the United States and Europe. The announcement coincided with the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Marshall Plan which helped Europe recover from the Second World War.

    The plan was revealed at Harvard University by West German Chancellor Willy Brandt.
