  • Description

An extraordinary meeting of top political leaders was called in Kinshasa last week to discuss the recent bomb attack on the Congo Democratic Republic's U.N. mission in New York. An anonymous telephone caller said that the bomb had been planted by a "black revolutionary group" in protest against the government of the Democratic Republic. The bomb blew out windows in the mission and injured three passers-by.

President Joseph Mobutu, addressing the cabinet meeting, called the bombing an absurd and a criminal act.
