Background: King Faisal of Saudi Arabia spent 15 minutes inspecting the supersonic Concorde airliner at Orly Airport, near Paris on Friday (18 May).
The King was accompanied by Pierre Messmer, the French Prime Minister during an official visit to France. France is hoping to sell at least two Concordes to Saudi Arabia.
While he was in France King Faisal met President Pompidou three times. His visit coincides with the visit of a top Egyptian to France for talks on the Middle East situation.
France is also hoping that Saudi Arabia will equip it's airforce with Mirage Jets, replacing the fleet of predominantly British aircraft.
After reviewing a Guard of Honour at the airport, King Faisal boarded his jet for Geneva.
