  • Description

Man met tiger at London Zoo, November 13, and the Visnews camera was there to record an unusual reunion.

The man was Corporal Kamansing Linbu, of the 1/7th Gurkha Rifles. The tiger, named Nepti, was caught six years ago by the corporal when he was on patrol in Malaya.

Nepti, then a cub only a few weeks old, became the Regiment's mascot. When it became too big to handle it was given to the zoo.

The meeting was emotion-charged. So much so, in fact, that Nepti went right off his food. And that, for a tiger, is tribute indeed.
