    In the Russian Embassy, London, October 15, British film director Lewis Gilbert was presented with the Silver Medal and a scroll by Russian Ambassador Jacob Malik for his film 'Cry from the St Stereos', prize-winner at the Moscow Film Festival, in August.

    Many British filmland personalities heard Ambassador Malik say the Moscow Film Festival would become a regular event, with the theme "for humanism in film art, peace and friendship among peoples."
    Lewis Gilbert, of Eros Films, said he was happy that this was the first English film officially to be sold in USSR. He said it was through the medium of film that people could see how others lived.
