    THE FOUR-DAY CONFERENCE, ATTENDED BY 24 BISHOPS FROM CONGO-BRAZZAVILLE, GABON, THE CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC, CHAD AND CAMEROUN WILL ELECT A REPRESENTATIVE TO A WORLD SYNOD OF EPISCOPAL CONFERENCES TO BE HELD IN ROME FROM SEPTEMBER 24 TO OCTOBER 24.

    THE CONFERENCE WILL ALSO RECEIVE REPORTS ON CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE AND THE FAMILY IN THE CENTRAL AFRICAN COUNTRIES.

    ON TUESDAY (30 MAY) -- THE SECOND DAY OF THE CONFERENCE -- THE BISHOPS ELECTED AS CONFERENCE PRESIDENT, MONSIGNOR TUCHEROUSSET, BISHOP OF BANGUI, AND WERE RECEIVED BY CAMEROUN PRESIDENT, AHMADOU AHIDJO.
